Todmorden
Easily reached by car, coach and train from Manchester, Leeds, Bradford, Burnley and Blackburn. Todmorden straddles the original border between East Lancashire and West Yorkshire. And it is the geographic centre of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! It is nestled in the heart of the Upper Calder Valley with stunning views across the moors in all directions.

Kindness at the Old Coop
A temperance bar/cafe in a gorgeous building that was one of the early cooperative stores, makes a brightly lit venue that’s very conducive to being filmed or photographed. You can see the venue in our slideshow on the ‘What’ page for our NHS Tod Away Day 2023 event.
Tod Learning Centre & Community Hub
Fondly known as the Tod College. Tod Learning Centre offers great meeting and event spaces for groups from 3 to 300. These include arts and practical workshops, conference rooms, sports facilities, classrooms, and break out spaces. TLCCH has access to a network of local and regional creative professionals and climate educators. You can see the venue in our video on the ‘What’ page for our NHS Tod Away Day 2022 event.
Incredible Farm
Indoor/Outdoor venue with an arable and animal farm with catering facilities for up to 30 people.
Hippodrome Theatre
A vintage West End style theatre offering an inspiring venue which has recently been sympathetically refurbished to preserve its traditional theatre feel. It also boasts the wonderful ‘Props Bar’. A working bar with its own unique magic because it houses the furniture, fixtures and fittings used to dress the stage. This is a community owned theatre with volunteer actors and a backstage team. Both include theatre professionals who we have worked with.
The Golden Lion
Legendary music venue in a old coach-house pub with multiple spaces and a Thai restaurant. Minutes walking from both the train station and the moors.
Outdoor locations:
Rochdale Canal
This working canal popular with holiday canal boats is a wonderful piece of living industrial heritage which runs right through the heart of Tod.
Gaddings Dam
The highest beach in England and it is sandy too! Sitting atop the moors with the Pennine Way nearby and views across to Manchester on a clear day. Please note that this remarkable location is only accessible on foot to fully mobile people. Within our team we have a certified swimming life saver so wild water swimming can be organised.
